Resonance: One Woman Show

Amy Ringholz
Artist Reception August 5th 5:00 – 7:00

While rooted in the artist's abstract wildlife portraiture, this brand new collection of art has bridged with the storytelling totem pole paintings created by Ringholz last year.   The show is aptly entitled "Resonance" as it is the artist's wish for the work to intimately connect and impact with the viewer.  The paintings entice the viewer with their captivating images and soulful titles but the stories they tell are left to the viewers' imaginations.  Amy believes this is her most powerful show to date and that through the magic of the work flow stories of love friendship, family, God, honor, and the pursuit of dreams.

By combining the elements of design, pattern, movement, flow, composition, and different animal species, the artist has revealed her formula for telling stories from her heart.  For inspiration for her latest works, she has studied late 19th century posters, the art nouveau style, and various fabrics.

"Amy's art has brought joy to admirers and collectors across the country.  This show will be an especially significant step in her artistic journey as it melds her familiar abstract styling with the sophisticated conceptual storytelling thematic.  And of course, if history is any indication,  Amy's reception will be the place to be in Jackson on the evening of August 5th.  -- Mark D.
