John Felsing & Kathryn Turner Special Show and Reception

Growing up on Triangle X Ranch in Grand Teton National Park, Kathryn reveled in painting the surrounding spectacular scenery and magnificent wildlife at an early age.  Nationally recognized as an important watercolorist, Turner has accumulated a number of regional and national honors and continues to expand her repertoire through world travels and painting with oils.  Kathryn is both a partner and exhibitor in the Trio Gallery in Jackson and this event at Altamira represents a rare respite from her ongoing duties and showings at Trio.

John Felsing is a strong believer in serendipity and his art reflects this belief.    He never knows what he will paint until a particular place or subject appeals to his inner muse and he revisits it numerous times.  The resulting painting, however, will not be representational but rather an attempt to capture the spirit or emotion of that place as experienced by the artist.  He expects everyone to interpret and react to his work on their own personal level.  Felsing’s work can be found in public and private collections throughout the country.  When asked to comment on his success, he succinctly sums up his philosophy by referencing the quote made famous by Woody Allen: “90% of life is just showing up.”

Show Dates: March 11th – 31st ; Artists’ Reception on Thursday, March 11th,
5 PM to 7 PM.
