Altamira Fine Art Fall 2009 Update
Successful Fall Arts Festival
Altamira is happy to announce that this year’s Fall Arts Festival has been one of the most successful in memory. We were delighted that one of our best selling artists, R. Tom Gilleon, was the featured artist and garnered quite a bit of interest which in turn stimulated sales of his art. The centerpiece of the Festival was Tom’s piece “Yellow Leaves Moon” which sold at auction for a very respectable price of $33,000. In addition, sales of the Festival’s poster featuring “Yellow Leaves Moon” set new records for poster sales of the event. All of us at Altamira want to thank all of our clients and everyone who visited the gallery for a great Festival. We still have a number of Tom’s pieces available that you can see on our Website or by stopping by in person.
Altamira Welcomes Two New Artists
Altamira is pleased to welcome renowned landscape artist John Felsing and celebrated sculptor Steve Kestrel to the gallery. Felsing’s art is distinguished by his soft palette and impressionistic interpretations of various subjects inspired by memory and experience. Steve Kestrel is an award-winning sculptor of stone and bronze works. While his art is representational, it is tempered with a striking flair of modernism. Both artists are represented in exhibitions and private and public collections throughout the country including the National Museum of Wildlife Art here in Jackson. Be sure to see samples of John Felsing’s and Steve Kestrel’s work on our Website or during your next visit to the gallery.
Scottsdale Road Show
Altamira embarks on its first road show this month when it partners with the John B. Strong Gallery in Scottsdale October 14th through the 18th. The show will feature a variety of popular Altamira artists including Rocky Hawkins, John Nieto, Tom Gilleon, and Greg Woodard. John B. Strong’s Gallery is located right on Main Street in the heart of Scottsdale and we welcome any of our clients and friends who happen to be in the area during the show to stop in, say hello, and browse. The Scottsdale show is only the first of several we plan this Fall and Winter. Continue to check the news items on our Website to see where we’ll be heading next.
