Love Candies references the artist Robert Indiana – which was not his given name but he adopted it based on growing up in several Indiana cities. Pop Art is very much like sweet candy – kind of light, empty calories but still appealing.

The free love movement in the 60s/70s frequently adopted the love sculpture so it seemed funny to add that 10% more free as a subtle nod. And finally, I just think commercializing his work into candy fits the whole Pop Art phenomenon, especially how LOVE became so disproportionately the icon of his career despite a lifetime of work (kind of a comment on the art world)
